2020 Registration is OPEN

Please read everything prior to registration.

The Storm Basketball Club is intended for players who wish to play basketball beyond the regular recreational or school season and who wish to achieve higher than average basketball skills. Our mission is to build a strong basketball program in the Town of Hartford, yet we accept players from out of town who may or may not attend Hartford in the future. Hartford Hoops Foundation tries to maintain a good relationship with Spring Sports coaches and programs. Storm basketball is not meant to replace a Spring Sport. If you need to miss a practice for a Spring Sport, you may do so without penalty.

Team Selections and Composition
After registration, the board will meet to discuss numbers and groupings. Priority is given to players who attend/will attend Hartford and then to former Storm players. After that, priority is given to others. Sometimes we are able to host multiple teams at a grade level, but this is not a guarantee. Most organizations cut players completely. To build the program and skills we will host a B team whenever possible. Please understand since most teams don’t have B teams, the competition will be fierce. Regardless of wins and losses, skills will improve. Tryouts may need to be held when there more players for one team, but not enough for two.

Teams will have a minimum of 8 players, but no more than 12.

Players will play for one Storm team only and will not swing/shift teams unless deemed necessary due to player absences or tournament dynamics.

Players who join Hartford Storm Basketball must make Storm Basketball tournaments their priority.
If players would like to play for other basketball clubs, we encourage that, but they MUST make Storm tournaments a priority.

Because we do not have an income source, we rely on fundraising. All participants must participate in the Free Throw Frenzy and the Calendar Raffle or take the BUY OUT option for each. There are optional events like the 3 on 3 Tournament.

The registration fee this year is $200 ($120 tournament fee, $80 uniform fee). This is well below all other basketball clubs in the area. Our fundraising covers the cost of equipment, insurance, referees and other incidentals.

Free Throw Frenzy

Hello families!

Thank you for an amazing turnout for the Free Throw Frenzy! We had so many more people show up this year, many of the kids are finishing their free throws this week. Please remember to send in your buy-out or pledge money by 3/31/19. You can give it to your coaches or to me directly. Make sure your player’s name is somewhere on the envelope or form so we know who to credit.
